Match preview: Sunil Chhetri-led India face tricky Kenya
The Indian football team will be up against Kenya in their 2nd match of the Intercontinental Cup. The match will be held in Mumbai on June 4. India won their first tie against Chinese Taipei as a hat-trick by Sunil Chhetri propelled the Blue Tigers to a 5-0 victory. Kenya, on the other hand, beat New Zealand 2-1 to start their campaign.
A big match on the cards
India know they have a tricky game on their hands as Kenya will be looking to give the hosts a stern test. Kenya's win over the Kiwis has given the players a lot of confidence and India need to be wary about the quality in the Kenyan team. India definitely go into the game as favorites and will hope for another victory.
All eyes will be on skipper Chhetri
India skipper Sunil Chhetri will be playing his 100th international match. The player scored a hat-trick against Chinese Taipei and will be the focal point in India's attack, once again. In 99 matches, Chhetri has netted a whopping 59 goals for the Indian team. His understanding with fellow forward Jeje Lalpekhlua will be the key for Stephen Constantine's men.
Key players to watch out for
India's goal-keeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu is one key player to watch out for. He has gained a lot of experience after playing in Norwegian league. Defender Pritam Kotal has put in some sturdy shows in recent past and will be the key-asset in the back-line. For Kenya, 26-year-old defender Mohammed Musa has the right credentials. He would be vital for the African nation.
