He is the only Indian to appear in 400-plus ODIs.

MS Dhoni - 350 matches (2004-2019)
The former World Cup-winning skipper stands second on this list, having appeared in 350 ODIs.
MS Dhoni made his ODI debut in 2004 in a match against Bangladesh. He played his 300th ODI against Sri Lanka in 2017 (Colombo).
According to ESPNcricinfo, he retired with 10,773 runs at an average of 50.57 alongside 10 hundreds and 73 fifties.
His highest ODI score is 183*.

Rahul Dravid - 344 matches (1996-2011)
Rahul Dravid, the former Indian batter and coach, stands third on this list on the back of 344 ODI appearances.
The Madhya Pradesh-born batter made his ODI debut in 1996 against Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, his 300th ODI was against Australia during the 2006 Champions Trophy (Mohali).
Overall, Dravid retired with 10,889 runs at 39.16, including 12 tons and 83 fifties (HS: 153).

Mohammad Azharuddin - 334 matches (1985-2000)
The former Indian skipper appeared in 334 ODIs from 1985 to 2000.
His debut game was against England in 1985, where he smashed an unbeaten 47.
Meanwhile, his 300th ODI came in 1998, and he became the first player to reach the milestone.
Azharuddin retired with 9,378 runs at an average of 36.92, alongside seven hundreds and 58 half-centuries (HS: 153*).

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly ranks fifth on this list with 311 ODI appearances in his 16-year career.
Debuting against the West Indies in 1992, he played his 300th ODI in 2007 at Headingley, scoring a match-winning fifty against England.
Meanwhile, Ganguly retired with 11,363 runs at 41.02, including 22 centuries and 72 fifties, with a career-best score of 183.

Yuvraj Singh - 304 matches (2000-2017)
World Cup winner Yuvraj Singh is the sixth Indian to play 300-plus ODIs, featuring in 304 matches over 18 years.
He debuted against Kenya in the 2000 Champions Trophy, and fittingly, his 300th match came in the 2017 semifinal against Bangladesh.
Yuvraj retired with 8,701 runs at 36.55, including 14 centuries and 52 fifties, with a highest score of 150.

As mentioned, Kohli is playing in his 300th ODI, becoming the seventh Indian to reach the milestone and the only active player on this list.
