Golfer Aditi Ashok scripts history by winning Indian Open
Indian golfer Aditi Ashok became the first Indian woman golfer to win a Ladies European Tour title after she won the 2016 Hero Women's Indian Open. The 18 year old who had an impressive run at the Rio Olympics, shot an even par-72 in the final round to take her total score to three under 213, and won the title.
Hero Women's Indian Open
Hero Women's Indian Open is an annual golf tournament held in Gurugram's DLF Golf and Country Club. It was first played in the year 2007. It became a part of Ladies European Tour in 2010. For the year 2016, it has prize money of $400,000. Thailand's Pornanong Phatlum has won the tournament thrice, most by any female golfer.

After winning the title, Aditi said ,"It feels good to win the championship. I had four top 10 finishes this year. I had a good front nine but made a few mistakes on the back nine, but overall it was a good week."
SSP Chawrasia lifts Resorts World Manila Masters
In another news, after winning Indian Open in March this year, Shiv Shankar Prasad Chawrasia lifted his second Asia tour title of the season as he won Resorts World Manila Masters in Philippines. It was the first title win for Chawrasia outside India after he birdied the 18th play-off hole twice in a playoff with Malaysia's Nicholas Fung and America's Sam Chen.

Expressing his happiness after winning the Manila Masters, Chawrasia said, "I am very happy. This is my first win outside of India. Everyone has been telling me I have won a lot of times in India and it's about time to win outside of India."
