These Indian bowlers boast five-wicket hauls in Champions Trophy
What's the story
Indian spinner Varun Chakravarthy scripted history by becoming only the third Indian to take a five-wicket haul in the ICC Champions Trophy.
Chakravarthy's brilliant five wickets for 42 runs helped India defeat New Zealand by 44 runs, in their last group-stage match at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
Here we look at the Indian bowlers with fifers in this prestigious competition.

Ravindra Jadeja - 5/36 vs West Indies, 2013
Ravindra Jadeja was the Indian with a fifer in the tournament.
He produced a record-breaking performance in the 2013 Champions Trophy.
He took five wickets for just 36 runs (10 overs) against West Indies at The Oval.
The left-arm spinner ignited a collapse as WI went from 103/1 to 182/9.
WI eventually finished at 233/9. India comfortably chased down the total as Jadeja was named the Player of the Match.

Mohammed Shami 5/53 vs Bangladesh, 2025
Mohammed Shami was at his best against Bangladesh in India's first match in the ongoing Champions Trophy in Dubai.
He dismissed opener Soumya Sarkar for a duck and later took key wickets of Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Jaker Ali.
Tail-enders Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Taskin Ahmed were his other victims as Shami returned with brilliant figures of 5/53 from his full quota of overs.

Varun Chakaravarthy - 5/42 vs New Zealand, 2025
Just over a week after Shami's stellar performance, Chakravarthy made his mark with a stellar spell against NZ.
In only his second ODI and first CT match, he took five wickets at the expense of just 42 runs.
