Decoding Indian batters with ODI centuries in Dubai
What's the story
Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli has added yet another feather to his cap by scoring his 51st century in ODI cricket.
This phenomenal achievement played a key role in India's victory over Pakistan in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on February 23.
For his stellar performance, Kohli was named the Player of the Match.
Meanwhile, here we look at the batters with ODI tons in Dubai.
#1
Shikhar Dhawan - 127 vs Hong Kong, 2018
India's first-ever ODI at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium was against Hong Kong in the 2018 Asia Cup.
The Men in Blue batted first and posted 285/7, with Shikhar Dhawan scoring a match-winning 127 off just 120 balls.
The former Indian opener recorded 75-plus stands with Ambati Rayudu and Dinesh Karthik en route to his stellar hundred.
Though Hong Kong were once placed at 174/0 in their run chase, they eventually lost by 26 runs.
#2
Shikhar Dhawan - 114 vs Pakistan in 2018
Dhawan's second hundred in the 2018 Asia Cup came against Pakistan.
This knock came after India were asked to chase 238 for victory.
The Men in Blue broke no sweat whatsoever as both openers, Dhawan and Rohit Sharma, made hundreds.
Dhawan was the aggressor that day as he made 114 off just 100 balls.
His brilliance meant India (238/1) won with more than 10 overs to spare.
#3
Rohit Shama - 111* vs Pakistan in 2018
As mentioned, Rohit also scored a hundred in the aforementioned game.
This continues to be his lone century in the Asia Cup.
Both Indian openers made a mockery of the Pakistan attack as none of the opposition bowlers looked effective.
They added 210 runs for the first wicket. Captain Rohit remained unbeaten on 111 off 119 balls.
#4
Shubman Gill - 101* vs Bangladesh, 2025
Shubman Gill starred with an unbeaten 101 off 129 balls in India's win over Bangladesh in the ongoing CT.
Chasing 229, India started their innings on a strong note with openers Rohit and Shubman stitching a 69-run partnership.
Though India lost wickets at regular intervals after Rohit's departure, Gill continued to hold one end.
Alongside KL Rahul, the opener took India to a six-wicket win and completed his hundred during the course.
#5
Virat Kohli - 100* vs Pakistan, 2025
Kohli's aforementioned CT hundred also entered in this list of elite knocks.
Chasing 242, India lost skipper Rohit in the fifth over.
Kohli joined Gill in the middle as the duo kept the scoreboard ticking.
The former displayed his endearing cover drives while working the ball in gaps.
After Gill's departure, Kohli also recorded a century stand with Shreyas Iyer.
He completed his ton by hitting the winning runs. Kohli returned unbeaten on 100 off 111 balls.
