England vs India 1st ODI: List of records broken
In a dominant show, India thrashed England by 8 wickets in the first ODI. After winning the toss, India opted to field first and once again, England couldn't handle Kuldeep's wizardry as they were bowled out for 268 runs. In response, Rohit led the charge with a brilliant ton and India chased down the target with 59 balls to spare. Here're the records broken.
The Chinaman is unstoppable
The left-arm mystery spinner, Kuldeep Yadav, stole the show with a match winning performance, grabbing 6 wickets for 25 runs only. This is the best spell by a left-arm spinner in ODIs. Further, Kuldeep scripted the best performance by a spinner against England. The 23-year old did not concede a single boundary and managed to bowl 38 dot balls.
Another brilliant knock by the hitman
Rohit Sharma continued from where he left in the third T20I. He scored a whirlwind century (137 runs off 114 balls), as he built a match-winning partnership with Kohli. His knock was laced with 5 sixes and 14 fours. This was Sharma's 18th ton. He is only behind Tendulkar, Kohli and Ganguly in terms of the most number of ODI tons by Indians.
Dhoni close to scripting a new record
England is one of Dhoni's favorite oppositions as he has a magnificent record against The Three Lions. Further, Dhoni is on the verge of becoming the highest scorer in India vs England ODI fixtures. Currently, the record resides with another legend, Yuvraj Singh, who has scored 1,523 runs in these head-to-head encounters. MS needs only 98 runs to better Yuvraj Singh's record.
Stumped after 7 years
The Indian captain, Virat Kohli, was building up a steady innings, when he was stumped off a ball by England's Adil Rashid. Interestingly, Kohli has been stumped out after a span of 7 years. The innings also marked Kohli's 47th ODI half-century.
Sharma-Kohli unlock another record
