ENGvsIND 1st ODI: How to pick the winning Dream XI?
India will be put to the test when they take on the number one ranked ODI team, England, in the first of the three-match ODI series today. England head into this fixture on the back of a 5-0 whitewash against Australia and are high on confidence. Here is our guide to help you pick your Fantasy XI and bag maximum points.
Kohli, KL Rahul, Rohit, Bairstow and Roy
India's batting core, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma will be the three Indian batsmen in our XI. Kohli, Rahul and Rohit were India's best batsmen in the recently concluded T20I series and are expected to carry their purple patch into the ODIs. Bairstow has been enjoying the form of his life while Jason Roy has been phenomenal with the bat, as well.
Jos Buttler will be our wicket-keeper
Jos Buttler is the one man Virat Kohli will be looking to dismiss as early as possible, because if he stays there's going to be a carnage. The wicket-keeper batsman is in such good form that we picked him over legend MS Dhoni.
Hardik Pandya is the lone all-rounder
Hardik Pandya will be the only all-rounder in this Fantasy XI. Pandya displayed his lethal abilities with the bat in the third T20I. He has been effective in picking up wickets, as well. We expect him to shine today and help us win crucial points.
Chahal, Umesh, Plunkett and Rashid
We expect spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Adil Rashid to create problems for the batsmen and hence are no-brainers in this XI. We haven't picked Kuldeep Yadav, since he might not find a place in Kohli's XI. The pace of Umesh Yadav will make him tricky to pick. On the other hand, Liam Plunkett is currently the best English bowler. These two complete our XI.
Captain and vice-captain
Jos Buttler, who has been in exceptional form since 2018 IPL, will be the captain of this XI. Hardik Pandya gets vice-captaincy, given his all-round abilities.
