India won the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy after beating New Zealand in the final in Dubai.
The Men in Blue chased down 252 to claim their third Champions Trophy title. They had reached their third successive final in the tournament.
This win marked India's seventh ICC title, just behind Australia, who have 10.

Victories defy toss results
Toss results deserted Team India skipper Rohit Sharma throughout the 2025 Champions Trophy.
India lost the toss in each of their five matches, and yet they returned unbeaten.
As per ESPNcricinfo, India are the first side to win a men's ODI tournament after failing to win the toss in any match (minimum five games).
NZ and England have one such bilateral series each.
Rohit
Fourth captain with this feat
Rohit has become only the fourth captain to be adjudged the Player of the Match in men's ICC tournament finals. He slammed a match-winning 76(83).
As per Cricbuzz, he has joined Clive Lloyd (West Indies, WC 1975), Ricky Ponting (Australia, WC 2003), and MS Dhoni (India, WC 2011).
However, he is the first captain to do so at the Champions Trophy.

ICC titles in ODI and T20I formats
Rohit has also become only the second captain to win ICC titles in both ODI and T20I formats, joining the great Dhoni. As per Cricbuzz, Rohit earlier became the first-ever skipper to reach the final of all four Men's ICC tournaments.

Most successive wins for Indian captains in ICC events
According to Kausthub Gudipati, Rohit now has the most successive wins for an Indian captain in ICC events.
India have now won 13 such matches under him, starting from the 2024 T20 World Cup. They won eight successive matches at that event.
Rohit went past Dhoni, who won 12 consecutive ICC tournaments matches between 2013 and 2014.

According to Cricbuzz, India now have the best win-loss ratio in the Champions Trophy (2.875). Australia follow India with 1.444.
The Men in Blue have won 23 of their 34 Champions Trophy matches, losing only eight (NR: 3).
No other side has won more than 15 match in the tournament's history. New Zealand trail India with 15 wins.

73 overs of spin in CT final
Indian spinners were instrumental in the team's win over New Zealand in the 2025 Champions Trophy final.
They bowled a staggering 38 overs and picked five wickets, restricting NZ to 251/7. Meanwhile, NZ also bowled 35 overs of spin in the game.
The 2025 CT final, hence, became the first match in an ICC ODI tourney to witness 70-plus overs of spin.
