#INDvsWI: Key factors which will determine the series
The Indian cricket team dominated the proceedings against West Indies in the recently concluded ODI series. The Virat Kohli-led side won the five-match series 3-1. And now under Rohit Sharma's leadership, the side will be facing the Caribbean nation for a three-match T20I series, starting November 4. Here are the key factors which will determine the series.
Rohit Sharma gets another shot at captaincy
Rohit has led India well and that has allowed the selectors to hand Kohli timely rest in between series. Under Rohit, the team won the Nidahas Trophy T20Is earlier this year. He also guided India to 50-over Asia Cup title in September. He has handled the responsibility well especially with bowling changes. His captaincy will be the most crucial factor for Men in Blue.
Chance for Pant to free his arms
Rishabh Pant has given a decent account of himself in Test cricket in the short time after making his debut in August. He was then handed the call-up to the ODI side against West Indies. With the selectors dropping veteran MS Dhoni for the T20Is, Pant gets the opportunity to make it count. The attacking keeper-batsman is being groomed for the future.
India's bowling have the power to challenge WI hitters
India have enjoyed a decent run of show in T20Is and a lot of credit should go to the bowling department. India have won four T20I tournaments this year. Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have 28 wickets between them this year and have the ability to rattle batsmen. Also Bhuvi and JB could have an impact at the death. WI batsmen will face difficulties.
Pandya, Iyer could make the difference
Several players will be willing to make it count and India will be hoping to give them a proper shot. Krunal Pandya as the all-rounder could make his debut. Further, we might see Shreyas Iyer in the middle-order, who had a successful Vijay Hazare Trophy.
WI get some solidity to boost mental strength
Some T20 regulars are back in the side for West Indies and that gives them the power to get going. Andre Russell and Kieron Pollard know the conditions well and will add value as all-rounders. WI will be looking to enjoy their cricket and the ODI experience will guide them.
