AIFF released a statement to clear all speculations
The AIFF has released a statement clearing off all speculations and announcing that the match will go on, as scheduled. The statement also talked about the extreme difficulties which certain members of the contingent had to go through before they were able to reach Amman. Players and members of the staff were stranded at Kuwait for 32 hours. Some members even lost their luggage.
Team news from both corners
Sunil Chhetri will not be available for the match after being injured during an ISL match between Bengaluru and Kerala Blasters. India will most likely line-up in a 4-4-2 formation with two central mid-fielders and the two wingers taking on a more attacking role. Jordan have numerous injury concerns, and their new manager is yet to see a win after three matches in charge.
India go in as favorites
India held a team as strong as China to a goalless draw at their own home, and it looks likely that they will put up another impressive performance against Jordan. Constantine had himself requested for more games for India to prepare well for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup. A solid performance tonight will be a step in the right direction.
