India-England 3rd ODI: Jay Shah announces organ donation campaign
What's the story
Jay Shah, the International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman, has announced a campaign to raise awareness about organ donation.
The initiative, titled "Donate Organs, Save Lives," will be launched during the third ODI between India and England scheduled at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on February 12.
The campaign aims to use cricket to promote organ donation and encourage people to pledge their organs posthumously.
Campaign goals
Addressing India's organ donation gap through cricket
The "Donate Organs, Save Lives" campaign comes in response to India's dire medical need for organ donations.
Despite advancements in medicine, awareness and willingness in terms of organ donations after death remain low in the country.
The initiative seeks to address this by leveraging the popular platform of cricket to educate people about the importance and impact of organ donation.

"Through this initiative, we urge everyone to take a step toward giving the greatest gift of all - the gift of life," Shah tweeted.
