    What's the story

    India beat England in the fifth T20I to seal the five-match series 3-2.

    The hosts piled up 224/2 in 20 overs as Virat Kohli (80*) led the show with the bat.

    The likes of Rohit Sharma (64), Suryakumar Yadav (32) and Hardik Pandya (39*) also chipped in.

    In reply, England failed to get past the target.

    How did the match pan out?

    India saw Rohit and Kohli put on 94 runs for the first wicket.

    After Rohit's dismissal, Kohli and Surya added 49 runs.

    Pandya then played a blinder put on 81 runs alongside Kohli and helping India post 224/2.

    In reply, England lost Jason Roy (0) early on.

    Jos Buttler (52) and Dawid Malan added a breezy century-plus stand (130).

    India held their nerves.

    Rohit T20Is

    Rohit smashes 22nd T20I fifty, gets past 250 fours

    Rohit Sharma (64) played a whirlwind innings that consisted of four fours and five sixes.

    The senior opening batsman has raced to 2,864 runs in T20Is.

    He went past Martin Guptill's tally of 2,839 runs.

    Rohit his his 22nd T20I fifty and a second versus England.

    Rohit has gone past 250 fours in T20Is (252).

    He has also raced to 133 sixes.

    Kohli T20Is

    Kohli registers these feats after 28th T20I fifty

    Indian captain Kohli smashed his 28th T20I fifty and a third of the series.

    He has raced to 3,159 runs at 52.65.

    Kohli also surpassed the 550-run mark against England (577), hitting his fourth T20I fifty against them.

    He also went past 50 fours against England (56).

    The 32-year-old surpassed David Warner's tally of 89 sixes in T20Is (90).

    Record

    Kohli amasses most runs in a bilateral T20I series

    Kohli now has the most runs in a bilateral series amongst full member teams (231).

    He surpassed the record held by KL Rahul (224 vs New Zealand).

    As per Cricbuzz, versus Adil Rashid, Kohli faced 32 balls and suffered wo dismissals at a strike rate of 71.9.

    However, versus other bowlers he faced 125 balls and didn't get dismissed (strike rate: 166.4).

    India smash highest score against England

    This was the fourth occasion where India scored in excess of 200 against England. Notably, this is India's highest score against England in T20Is. Their previous best was 218/4 in 2007.

    Notable records scripted by England batsmen

    England's Jos Buttler went past Shikhar Dhawan (1,673) in terms of career T20I runs.

    He also went past the 1,700-run mark in T20Is, becoming only the second England batsman to do so.

    Jason Roy registered his sixth career T20I duck and a first versus India.

    Malan surpassed 100 fours and 1.000 T20I runs.

    Buttler hit his 12th fifty as Malan smashed his 10th fifty.

    Kohli broke Aaron Finch's record of most runs as captain in T20Is. Australian captain Finch has 1,462 runs in 44 matches as captain. Meanwhile, playing his 45th T20I match as captain, Kohli has gone past 1,500 runs (1,502).
