India thrashed England in the 5th T20I at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on February 2.
The Men in Blue sucessfully defended 247 after bowling the Englishmen out for 97. It was a concerted bowling effort from India.
A blistering and record-breaking century from Abhishek Sharma laid the foundation for India's win.

Ton-up Abhishek powers India to 247/9
India lost Sanju Samson early after England elected to field.
Abhishek took over and did the bulk of scoring thereafter. He added 115 runs with Tilak Varma, with India completing 100 in 6.3 overs.
While Abhishek slammed a 37-ball century, Shivam Dube's impressive 30(13) took India forward.
England dismissed Abhishek in the 18th over and restricted India to 247/9. Brydon Carse took three wickets.

England also had a flying start, collecting 17 runs in Mohammed Shami's first over. However, Shami bounced back after dismissing Ben Duckett for a golden duck.

Samson earlier gave India a flying start, hammering Archer for a six on the match's first ball. He anticipated the short delivery, which he whacked over deep square leg.
Samson has become only the third Indian to hit a six off the first ball of a T20I. He has joined Rohit Sharma (off Adil Rashid, 2021) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (off Sikandar Raza, 2024).

Abhishek completed a 37-ball ton, now the third-fastest in T20I cricket (Full Member sides). He went past Johnson Charles, who slammed a 39-ball ton against South Africa in Centurion in 2023.
Abhishek is only behind South Africa's David Miller (35 balls vs Bangladesh) and India's Rohit Sharma (35 balls vs Sri Lanka) in terms of fastest T20I ton.

Highest individual score for India; most sixes in an innings
Abhishek eventually departed for a 54-ball 135, now the highest individual score for India in men's T20I cricket. He surpassed his compatriot Shubman Gill's 126* against New Zealand in Ahmedabad in 2023.
Abhishek hammered 7 fours and 13 sixes in Mumbai. He now has the most sixes for India in a T20I, going past Rohit, Samson, and Tilak (10 each).

India won the Wankhede T20I by a mammoth 150 runs, their second-largest victory in the format.
The Men in Blue have won only one other T20I by a margin of 150-plus runs. They claimed a 168-run over New Zealand in Ahmedabad in 2023.
In Mumbai, India surpassed their 143-run T20I win against Ireland in Dublin in 2018.
