    The flamboyant batsman was rested for the first two games, as stated by skipper Virat Kohli.

    Suryakumar Yadav makes way for Rohit

    In a major development, middle-order batsman Suryakumar Yadav, who recently got his T20I debut match, has made way for Rohit in the match.

    The former has been dropped after just one game.

    Interestingly, India captain Kohli has stated that Ishan Kishan will bat at number three in the third T20I.

    This means Rahul will continue to open alongside Rohit.

    England captain Eoin Morgan has become only the fourth male cricketer to play 100 T20 Internationals.

    He is only behind Shoaib Malik (116), Rohit (109) and Ross Taylor (102) on the tally.

    Notably, Morgan is the only English batsman with over 2,000 T20I runs (2,306 runs at 30.34).

    Meanwhile, Rohit is playing his first white-ball match for India since February 2020.
