Fastest to 2,500 ODI runs
Gill also completed his 2,500th run during his innings. He is now the fastest batter to this mark, having reached here in 50 innings.
This puts him ahead of the record previously held by South African legend Hashim Amla, who scored his 2,500th run in his 53rd innings.
Among Indians, Gill went past Shreyas Iyer for this record.

Century in all three formats at a venue
As per Cricbuzz, Gill has become the first Indian with a century at a venue in all three formats. He slammed a century in a T20I against New Zealand and an ODI against Australia, both in 2023, in Ahmedabad.

Iyer came in after Gill and Kohli set a solid platform. He joined forces with Gill, as the duo took India past 220.
While the latter was dismissed soon after, Iyer had century in his sights. However, Rashid removed Iyer with a rather poor delivery.
He slammed a 64-ball 78 (8 fours and 2 sixes), completing his 20th fifty in the format.
