The two teams were in action during the 2016 World T20 in Bengaluru. Batting first, India managed 146/7 in 20 overs. In reply, Bangladesh were going strong at 55/1. However, the wicket of Tamim Iqbal saw India get back. Bangladesh held on and needed two runs off the last three deliveries. However, India claimed three successive wickets next and pulled off a thriller.

Notably, India and Bangladesh have played eight T20Is between them. And India have a 100% record after having gone on to win all the eight games. They met thrice in the 2018 Nidahas Trophy tri-series and India were on top including a thrilling finale.
Karthik's last-ball six helps India win the Nidahas Trophy
The 2018 Nidahas Trophy final was a blockbuster. Bangladesh rode on a sublime 77 by Sabbir Rahman to post 166/8. In reply, India were in a spot of bother at 133/5 after 18 overs. Bangladesh thought they had things under control. However, veteran Dinesh Karthik (29*) had other ideas. With India needing five off one ball, DK smashed a six.
India thump Bangladesh in 2009 World T20
India met Bangladesh for the first time in a T20I back in the 2009 World T20 in England. Batting first, India managed 180/5 at Nottingham. Gautam Gambhir (50) was the top run-scorer. In reply, Bangladesh needed a strong response and were cruising at 55/1. However, India fought back and Pragyan Ojha (4/21) stunned the Tigers. India won the match by 25 runs.
