India's stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma managed just nine runs on Sunday. However, he surpassed Virat Kohli (2,450) in terms of most career T20I runs (2,452). He slammed two fours in his knock and went past Afghanistan's Mohammad Shahzad (218) in terms of career T20I fours (219). Rohit also became the most capped Indian T20I player. He (99) overcame MS Dhoni's tally of 98 T20Is.
Dhawan races to 1,454 runs in T20Is
Shikhar Dhawan (41) hit one six and needs four more to to register the mark of 50 in T20Is. He also raced to 1,454 runs in T20Is and needs 46 more to notch 1,500 runs in T20Is. He also claimed his 18th career T20I catch.
Bangladesh seal maiden T20I win against India
This was the ninth meeting between India and Bangladesh in T20Is. Bangladesh managed their maiden win against the Men in Blue, who prior to this match, had a 100% record against the Tigers. This was also the second meeting in India between the two teams. The tally now reads 1-1. This was India's second T20I match in Delhi and they registered a maiden loss.
Mushfiqur Rahim helped the Tigers script this victory
Mushfiqur Rahim scored his fifth career T20I fifty. He also surpassed 1,250-plus career runs in T20Is. Mushfiqur shared a 60-run stand for the third wicket alongside Soumya Sarkar (39).
How did the match pan out?
India lost Rohit early on and the responsibility was on Dhawan to remain put. KL Rahul (15) perished soon after. Dhawan carried on and stitched a 34-run stand with Shreyas Iyer (22). At 102/5, India were in a spot of bother. However, important contributions later on helped them surpass 140. In reply, Bangladesh batted sensibly and won the match.
