India vs Afghanistan: How to pick the winning Fantasy XI?
On Thursday, India and Afghanistan will lock horns in the one-off Test match in Bengaluru. The historic Test will see Afghanistan make their debut in the longest format. With plenty of exciting talent in both sides, one would be wondering how to go about picking the winning Fantasy XI for the match? Here we help you with our Dream XI analysis.
Pujara and Ashwin get leadership nods
Heading into the five-day Test in Bengaluru, our skipper and his deputy are Cheteshwar Pujara and Ravichandran Ashwin. Pujara has had a decent time in England playing for Yorkshire. His record at home is excellent and he has shown that he is capable of slamming big knocks. Ashwin will be looking to dictate the proceedings given he is India's spin ace.
Rahane leads an exciting batting line-up
We have gone with five batsmen in the line-up. Besides Pujara, we have chosen the likes of Ajinkya Rahane, Murali Vijay, Asghar Stanikzai and wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik. Vijay will look to get in the groove and score vital runs. Indian skipper Rahane adds the vitality in the middle-order alongside his counterpart Asghar. In-form DK adds depth at number five.
Pandya and Ashwin are all-rounders
Vice-captain and off-spinner Ashwin comes in at number six and he is joined by Hardik Pandya as the other all-rounder of this side. Pandya could give you maximum points with his efficiency in all the three departments.
Rashid and Mujeeb in a four-man bowling attack
Afghanistan spin duo Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman provide plenty of excitement in the team. Both youngsters will be of huge challenge to the Indian batsmen. Given their variety and mystery, expect them to be in the wickets column. Afghan left-arm bowler Amir Hamza brings more depth in spin. The trio will be joined by lone Indian pace bowler Ishant Sharma.
