He emphasized that both men's and women's Hockey India Leagues (HIL) are crucial platforms for nurturing young talent and promoting the sport.

Tirkey praised Hockey India's performance over the past four years, highlighting their achievements at the Tokyo and Paris Olympics. He also commended Harmanpreet Singh's team for their record-breaking feats. "In the past four years, Hockey India has displayed a stunning performance. In the Tokyo Olympics, we won bronze and again in the Paris Olympics we won bronze," he stated during his interview with ANI.

Tirkey also applauded the leadership of Harmanpreet, who helped the Indian men's hockey team win the bronze medal. Singh emerged as the top goal-scorer in the tournament, having bagged a total of 10 goals from eight matches.
