2019 World Cup: India might wear a different away jersey
The Indian cricket team will be donning two different sets of jerseys during the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019. In an interesting development, two of India's matches have been dubbed as away games and this will see them don a separate kit. The rest of India's matches will see them wearing the official blue kit. Here are the details about it.
The reason behind India's two jerseys
The reason behind India wearing two jerseys is because three other nations also have a blue kit in the World Cup. The second Indian jersey is set to be dominated by orange and will be worn for the matches against England and Afghanistan. Against Sri Lanka, the Indian team will put on their traditional blue jersey after being named as the home side.
Teams with green jerseys will also have alternatives
Meanwhile, the likes of Pakistan, South Africa, and Bangladesh will also need to think about alternatives. All three countries have green colored jerseys. As a result, they will have to find something different for a few games when pitted against each other. Meanwhile, the likes of West Indies, Australia and New Zealand do not have any worries regarding their jerseys.
How will India's jersey look like?
According to a report in Times Now, India's yet-to-be-released jersey will supposedly see the players don darker blue shades in the front, whereas orange will dominate the sleeves as well as the back.
India open their World Cup campaign against South Africa
India start their ICC World Cup 2019 campaign on June 5 against South Africa. The Virat Kohli-led side will be aiming to get off to a winning start in this 10-team event. India have played a strong brand of cricket since the ICC Champions Trophy and they will want to continue with the momentum. One hopes India's orange avatar will prove to be lucky.
