Mandaviya highlighted India's track record of successfully hosting global events such as the Commonwealth Games, multiple Cricket World Cups, and the G20 Summit. He expressed confidence in India's ability to provide a memorable experience for athletes and officials. "We want to welcome thousands of athletes and officials with open arms and our world-class hospitality," he said.
Government's support for sports development in India
The Sports Minister also reiterated the government's commitment to sports development in India. He cited the success of initiatives like Khelo India in nurturing world-class athletes who feature for India at international levels. "Out of the 170 athletes who represented India and won six medals at the Paris Olympics, 28 were Khelo India athletes," Mandaviya revealed.

JP Nadda, the Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, was the chief guest at the AGM. He underscored the importance of sports for personal well-being and as a 'symbol of unity.'
