Virender Sehwag (81 balls against Bermuda in 2007) holds the record. Rohit registered the second highest score against Pakistan in World Cup. Andrew Symonds (143* in 2003) holds the record.

Kohli surpassed the 11,000-run mark in ODIs. He became the fastest to 11,000 ODI runs (222 innings). The 30-year-old became the ninth batsman in ODI history to achieve this mark. Kohli also became the third Indian cricketer to get past this mark. Only Sachin Tendulkar (18,426) and Sourav Ganguly (11,221) have more runs for India in ODIs.

The partnership between Rohit and KL Rahul was the highest for India against Pakistan in World Cup (136). This was also the fifth highest partnership for the first wicket at Old Trafford in ODIs. It was also the joint-fifth highest stand for the first wicket by India in World Cup history.

India were sent into bat by Pakistan and the decision backfired. Rohit and Rahul were terrific upfront for the Men in Blue. They laid a strong foundation. Kohli and Rohit added a solid stand and gave India the momentum. Amir bowled well for Pakistan. In reply, Pakistan were 117/1 at one stage, but from there on they collapsed to hand India a famous win.
