Both sides will be aiming to get the bragging rights and go the distance in this high-octane battle. With some rainfall predicted, it will be interesting to see how the pitch shapes up. Here are the records that can be scripted.
India can go 7-0 clear at the Cricket World Cup
India have won all the six World Cup meetings against Pakistan. This could be the seventh straight occasion where the Indian cricket team can be triumphant. This could be India's second World Cup victory over Pakistan at Old Trafford. They beat Pakistan here in 1999. If India beat Pakistan, then this will be their third successive ODI win against Sarfaraz Ahmed's men.
ODIs: Kohli can be third Indian to surpass 11,000-run mark
Indian captain Virat Kohli has amassed 10,943 runs in ODI cricket. He needs 57 more to get to the 11,000-run mark. He can be the ninth batsman in ODI history to achieve this mark. The 30-year-old Kohli can also be the third Indian cricketer to get past this mark. Only Sachin Tendulkar (18,426) and Sourav Ganguly (11,221) have gone past 11,000 ODI runs.
Kohli and Rohit can achieve this feat in 2019
Kohli (711 runs) and Rohit Sharma (735 runs) can get past the 800-run mark this year in ODI cricket. The two batsmen can join Australia's Aaron Finch (977) and Usman Khawaja (867).
