BCCI likely to rope in a new spin coach: Report
Keeping the series against Australia in mind, the BCCI is likely to bring in a new spin coach. After a disastrous Test series against England which India lost 1-4, head coach Ravi Shastri met the Committee of Administrators (CoA) where several things were discussed. Now it has come to the fore that the BCCI could soon get a new spin bowling coach.
Indian management keen to add spin coach
According to a report in the Mumbai Mirror, the Indian management is keen to add a spin bowling coach to aid the side. Currently, India have a four-member coaching team with Sanjay Bangar, Bharat Arun and R Sridhar all working with Shastri. Arun is the bowling coach. But the Indian think tank wants a specialized spin consultant to produce better results.
Reasons why Indian management is going for a spin coach
There are two angles behind this move. Firstly, the likes of Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid created problems for India and now the management wants the spinners to help the batsmen practise in the nets, with the help of the coach. Secondly, India's spinners didn't have a massive impact in England. And with the tour of Australia next, the BCCI wants to correct this.
Coach likely to come in November
The addition could take place in November before the series against Australia. India play four Tests against the Aussies, besides three T20Is and an equal number of ODIs . The first Test against Australia starts from December 6.
