India thrash Bangladesh in Asia Cup: Here're the records broken
All-round India beat Bangladesh, in another one-sided battle, in the ongoing Asia Cup 2018. Indian bowlers were, once again, right on the money to restrict Bangladesh to 173/10. Ravindra Jadeja shined, in his comeback match, with 4 wickets. In reply, India chased down the target with skipper Rohit Sharma slamming another fifty. Here are the records broken.
India floor Bangladesh once again
This was 34th ODI between the two nations and India have won a staggering 28 of them. Bangladesh lost yet another battle against India in multiple-team tournaments. The tally now reads 1-8. This was the third occasion in the Asia Cup where a team saw three bowlers take 3+ wickets in a single match. India have managed this twice in Asia Cup history.
Left-arm spinner Jadeja scripts record
Ravindra Jadeja broke his own record to notch the best figures by a left-arm spinner in Asia Cup (4/29). His previous best was 4/30 against Afghanistan in 2014. Jadeja made a return to the side after a gap of 27 ODI matches. His last ODI wicket was of Shakib Al Hasan, whom he dismissed, once again, on his return.
Rohit, Dhawan spice it up in Dubai
Rohit Sharma notched his 36th fifty in ODI cricket. It was also his 2nd fifty against Bangladesh in ODIs. Shikhar Dhawan took 4 catches in the match and joined VVS Laxman (2004) and Mohammad Kaif (2003) in notching a special feat. Rohit and Dhawan now have 3,636 runs as an opening pair with an average of 45.45. They stitched a 61-run stand on Friday.
