#IndiaInAustralia: Three key moments of the second ODI
Team India beat Australia by six wickets in the second ODI of the three-match series in Adelaide on Tuesday. With this win, India leveled the series at 1-1. Batting first, Australia were restricted for 298/9, after an impressive 131 from Shaun Marsh. In reply, India chased down the target with Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni playing sensibly. Here are three key moments.
Getting Marsh and Maxi in quick succession handed India momentum
Shaun Marsh was in sublime form and ensured that he hung around for a long time. The southpaw smashed 11 fours and three sixes. Marsh and Glenn Maxwell (48) were going on well and at one stage it looked like Aussies would get to 315-run mark. But Bhuvneshwar Kumar struck twice to get them out in a space of two balls.
Kohli's ability to forge partnerships key for India
Kohli was once again instrumental to show how great he is in this format. The 30-year-old struck 104 from 112 balls. Kohli hit five fours and two sixes. He relied on ones and twos and shared three 50-plus stands in the match. The 82-run stand with MS Dhoni was the most crucial one and the two complimented each other well.
Dinesh Karthik eases the pressure off a tired Dhoni
With Kohli getting out in the 44th over, India still had work to do. They required 57 runs more to win the match. In came Dinesh Karthik and he freed Dhoni. MSD was looking tired after a long day on the field and DK's 14-ball 25 was a solid affair. Dhoni (55*) concentrated on singles and then hit a six to get India home.
