Ind vs Sri Lanka 2nd T20I: Probable XI
Rohit Sharma has the opportunity to win his first T20I series as a captain when India take the field against Sri Lanka in the second T20I in Indore. After posting 180 in Cuttack and bowling out the Lankans for just 87, the men in blue are high on confidence. Here is our probable XI for the 2nd T20I in Indore today.
Rohit and KL Rahul to open the innings
Stand in captain, Rohit Sharma will open the proceedings for India in Indore. The 30-year-old reached 1,500 run milestone in T20 cricket in Cuttack during the 1st T20, the second Indian after Virat Kohli to do so. In the absence of Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul will partner Rohit up the order and would look to continue from where he left at in Cuttack.
Ms Dhoni to be promoted to No. 4
Shreyas Iyer has made a case for himself at the No. 3 position with back to back fifties in the ODIs and a 24 run cameo in Cuttack. MS Dhoni is likely to be promoted up the order to No. 4 after showing the fans at the Barabati Stadium plenty of kick is left in the old horse. Manish Pandey is India's No 5.
Washington Sundar likely to handed T20I debut
Big hitting Hardik Pandya is a no brainer when it comes to T20s His ability with the ball makes him a valuable member in the team. Washinton Sundar who made his ODI debut in the Sri Lanka series is likely to be given his first T20 cap. He is Tamil Nadu's middle order batsman, so expect plenty of fireworks from this lad.
Will Chahal and Kuldeep wreck havoc again?
Yuzvendra Chahal was the architect behind Sri Lanka's downfall in Cuttack recording figures of 4-23. He was aided by the able Kuldeep Yadav adding pressure on the visitors to bowl them out for 87. With this duo shining so bright in the limited overs format, India have clearly not missed the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.
Bumrah and Unadkat to lead the pace battery
India's death over specialist Jasprit Bumrah is one of the first names on the team sheet. In the absence of Bhuvi, he will shoulder the task of leading India's attack. Partnering Bumrah in the pace department will be the talented Jaydev Unadkat whose career has seen several highs and lows. Still just 26, Unadkat has plenty of time left to set that record straight.
