Consolation win for England; win by 5 runs
England got a consolation win against India in the third ODI at Eden Gardens winning the match by five runs. Chasing a target of 322 runs, Kedar Jadhav scored 90 but was caught on the second last ball of the match. He had a 104 run-partnership with Hardik Pandya, who scored 56. For England, Ben Stokes got three wickets. India, however, won the series.
India plays against England in final ODI at Kolkata
Having already won the series 2-0, India faced England in the final ODI of the series at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. This was India's last chance before the ICC Champions Trophy in June to tick off most of the boxes before the big tournament. On the other side, England's side will look to avoid a 3-0 wash out before going into T20 series.
Changes in squad
Ajinkya Rahane, who was out of the team with an injury, has been brought in the team in place of Shikhar Dhawan. For England, Alex Hales has been ruled out of the rest of the tour with a fractured hand.
Roy strikes again, takes England to 321
After putting to bat first by Virat Kohli, England went on to score a mighty 321, thanks to Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes. Roy and Bairstow scored 65 and 56 respectively, while Stokes remained not-out on 57. In the last overs, Chris Woakes fired a quick 34 off 19 balls, taking England past 300. Captain Eoin Morgan scored 43.
Three wickets for Pandya, two for Jadeja
Hardik Pandya was the most successful bowler for India with three wickets from 10 overs with an economy of 4.90. Ravindra Jadeja took his 150th ODI wicket in the match as he finished his spell with two wickets.
