Seamers Shardul Thakur and Navdeep Saini to join squad
If the series defeat in Centurion was not hard enough to digest, Indian team management has now complained that India have been denied quality net bowlers. Hapless Indian team management had to resort to desperate measures and Delhi pacer Navdeep Saini and Mumbai speedster Shardul Thakur have been asked to immediately board the plane to South Africa.
Desperate India call for net bowlers
The third Test is scheduled to begin on 24th of January and these two bowlers are expected to leave for South Africa on Saturday. With the pacers reaching Johannesburg on Sunday, the Indian team will just have two days of net sessions before the final Test. Shardul Thakur is also a part of the ODI squad.
Team India denied quality net bowlers
The Indian team has been denied quality net bowlers which was brought up with Cricket South Africa authorities. Hence, the BCCI was quick to react asking the pace duo to head to Johannesburg to ensure the team can step up preparations for the final Test. Having already lost the series, India now will play for pride.
Top BCCI official spills the beans
"The team communicated to the selectors that they were not provided the help of quality net bowlers in South Africa. Hence, the arrangement has been made after the match...the team doesn't want to leave any stone unturned to better its performance"
Lack of net bowlers is India's doing
India came into the tournament riding high on confidence as the number one Test team in the world. They even refused to play the practise game ahead of the series. To make the matters worse, the net bowlers India carried (Mohammed Siraj, Ankit Rajpoot and Basil Thampi) were sent back home once the first Test began in Cape Town on January 5th.
