Shreyas Iyer slammed an unbeaten fifty. In reply, Sri Lanka failed to chase down the target. The Lankans struggled with the bat to surrender the tie.
Rohit is now the highest scorer in T20Is
Indian skipper Rohit is now the highest scorer in T20Is. He is the first player to surpass the 3,300-run mark in the format. He has gone past Martin Guptill (3,299) and Virat Kohli (3,296) in terms of T20I runs. Rohit slammed a 44-run knock before being bowled by Lahiru Kumara. Rohit has 3,307 runs at 33.07.
Kishan slams 89 for India
Playing his ninth T20I, Kishan slammed his second T20I fifty. He surpassed the 250-run mark as well. He batted with a sense of purpose. He found the gaps and dominated the show. He consumed 56 deliveries, hitting 10 fours and three sixes.
India extend the H2H record
The two teams have faced each other on 23 occasions in T20Is to date. India have won 15 matches. Sri Lanka have pocketed seven matches. One match didn't have a result. SL had won the last two T20Is against India.
Shreyas Iyer impresses for Team India
Indian middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer slammed 57* from 28 balls. He hit five fours and two sixes. Iyer has raced to 605 runs in T20Is at 27.50. This was his third T20I fifty.
