Ajinkya Rahane smashes 21st Test fifty: List of records broken
2019 seems to be going in a superb manner for Indian Test team vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane. The senior batsman, who has been in top form of late, smashed 86 runs on Day 2 of the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh in Indore. Rahane helped India get to a position of authority alongside fellow centurion Mayank Agarwal. Here are the records scripted by Rahane.

Rahane came at the crease when India were 119/3 in the morning session. However, the talented batsman went on to join hands with Mayank Agarwal, who went on to score an unbeaten century. India are 309/4 after Rahane's dismissal post Tea.
Rahane smashes fifty, surpasses 4,000 career Test runs
Rahane amassed his 21st career Test fifty. This was his third career fifty against Bangladesh in Tests. He raced to 294 runs against the Tigers. The senior cricketer also surpassed the 4,000-run mark in Test cricket (4,061). He became the 16th Indian to register 4,000-plus Test runs. Rahane went past Murali Vijay (3,982) in terms of career Test runs as well.
Rahane is the fourth-highest run-scorer in Tests this year
Rahane now has 591 Test runs in 2019. He is the fourth-highest run-scorer in terms of Test runs this year (591). He went past the likes of Quinton de Kock (584), Rory Burns (547) and Rohit Sharma (535). Steve Smith (774) leads the show in terms of most runs. The likes of Mayank and Ben Stokes follow suit.
Rahane and Mayank amass a special record
Rahane and Mayank shared a 190-run stand for the fourth wicket against Bangladesh. This is now the sixth-highest partnership runs for any wicket in India versus Bangladesh Test matches. It is also the second-highest fourth-wicket stand in an India-Bangladesh Test match.
