Australia level the ongoing hockey series with India
World number one Australia made a comeback in the second match against India to level the series 1-1. Trailing by 2-3, Jez Hayward scored two brilliant goals in the second half to help the hosts win the match 4-3. Captain VR Raghunath had earlier scored two goals for India in the 22nd and 25th minute, giving lead to the hosts.
India's tour to Australia
The Indian men's hockey team is on a tour to Australia for two match test series. VR Raghunath is leading the Indian contingent. The matches would be played on 29 and 30 November at Bendigo. Australia had beaten India at the Champions Trophy finals in London earlier this year and also at the 2016 Rio Olympics in August.
Results of Four Nations Invitational Tournament
India had lost to Australia in the Four Nations Invitational Tournament last week. While Australia won the tournament, India had finished third.
India won first match against Australia
Indian men's hockey team trounced Australia 3-2 in the first match at Bendigo. Affan Yousuf scored two goals in the 19th minute while skipper VR Raghunath netted the winning goal for India. The world number one team tried getting back in the game, but India's defence was too strong for them. The second match would be played on 30 November.
Australia's record in last two weeks
Australia had defeated New Zealand twice to lift the Trans-Tasman Trophy in Auckland before emerging champions in the four nations invitational trophy.
