India vs West Indies, 3rd T20I: Preview, Dream11 and more
India and West Indies gear up for the third and final T20I of the three-match series to be held on Wednesday. India lost the second T20I by eight wickets to see WI equal the series 1-1. India will be aiming to have total control and better themselves in a must-win scenario. Here's the complete match preview.
India need to better themselves on the field
Team India dropped two crucial catches in the fifth over when WI chased. India were also not good enough in the first T20I on the field. Skipper Virat Kohli said after the second T20I that the standards need to improve and he wasn't happy. "Not (happy with the fielding) at all. In the last two games we've been below-par on the field," he said.
India's bowling the focus ahead of 3rd T20I
India need to work on their bowling as well and stop the Windies resurgence. After conceding 207 runs in the first T20I, India failed to defend their 170/7 in the previous match. It remains to be seen whether Kohli goes bold and makes a few changes. The idea will be to work on the basics and stick together as a unit.
West Indies will be seeking to build on momentum
The Windies have batted well in the series and that's a major plus for Kieron Pollard's side. The return of Nicholas Pooran adds so much of dynamism and power. The top order has also fired to give the side a desired depth. Windies will need to be on their toes in order to stop India and stun them at their own backyard.
Dream11: Kohli and Pooran get leadership nods
KL Rahul and Evin Lewis get the nod as the openers of this side. Kohli is our choice as the skipper of this Dream11 team. Nicholas Pooran (vice-captain) fills in as the wicket-keeper batsman at number four. Shimron Hetmyer follows suit. Jason Holder, Shivam Dube and Pollard are the three all-rounders. Deepak Chahar, Sheldon Cottrell and Yuzvendra Chahal are the main bowlers.
Timing, TV listing, pitch report and venue
The match will be telecast live on the Star Sports Network and can be streamed on Hotstar. It is set to start at 7:00 PM IST. The match will be held at the Wankhede in Mumbai on Wednesday. The pitch will assist batsmen mainly. However, there will be something for the bowlers as well.
