Mithali smashes ton for India A, sets a new record
Mithali Raj showed her prowess with the bat to help India A women script a victory against Australia A, in the second T20 match, in Mumbai. Raj scored a 61-ball 105 to lead the proceedings against the Aussies. This innings helped the 35-year-old to bounce back to form after a lean patch. Here is more on the same.
Mithali eclipses Smriti's record
India A women beat Australia A by 28 runs after skipper Kaur decided to bat first. Senior cricketer Mithali notched a new record after she slammed the highest score by an Indian woman in T20s. She went past Smriti Mandhana's record of 102. Smriti had achieved the same in the Kia Super League earlier in 2018.

With the ICC Women's World T20 to start next month, the BCCI fielded an India A team consisting of several senior team players in order to gain valuable practice. India A women slipped to 66/4 with Smriti failing with the bat. Mithali and Kaur then added a 85-run stand. Kaur scored an impressive 32-ball 57 and helped India finish at 184/5.
Australia A women surrender impetus
Australia A women got off to a strong start and were 61/1 at one stage. But Indian women hit back as the visitors slumped to 94/4 in the 13th over. From there on, the momentum was lost as the Aussie women surrendered impetus. They were finally restricted at 156/9 as India A women won their second consecutive match of the series.
Women's World T20: All you need to know
Indian women's team open the World T20 campaign against the Kiwi women on November 9. They face arch-rivals Pakistan on November 11 before taking on a qualifying side and then favorites Australia. The 10-team tourney will see the final played on November 24.
