Significance of Pujara and Vijay's knocks
Today's ton was Vijay's 10th Test century. He has the third most Test hundreds among Indian openers after Sunil Gavaskar (33) and Virender Sehwag (22). Cheteshwar Pujara, on the other hand, scored his 14th Test century and fourth this year. Pujara also became the third and only Indian so far to complete 1000 Test runs this calendar year after Dean Elgar and Dimuth Karunaratne.
