The possible playing XI for Ind-Aus 4th ODI
Having already bagged the 5-match ODI series 3-0, India will look to extend their unbeaten streak in the ODIs to 10, in the 4th Ind-Aus ODI at Bengaluru. Australia, on the other hand, have lost last 11 ODIs away from home and will look to save face with a consolatory win. Let's look at the possible playing XI for both sides.
10 consecutive ODI wins will be a first for India
Indian team has a chance to achieve 10 consecutive ODI wins for the first ever time. South Africa had the most recent 10-match undefeated stretch, and their winning streak lasted 12 games, from Sep 2016-Feb 2017.
An unchanged team for India?
Unless someone needs to be rested, we are likely to see the same winning combination of players which has worked for Kohli. Changes if any could be made to the bowling line-up to make way for Shami or Umesh Yadav. Probable XI: Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah.
Chinnaswamy is bad for Kohli's numbers
Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy stadium had been Kohli's worst home venue in ODIs. For the four games he has played here, his average has been 10.50, with scores of 0, 8, 34 and 0.
Aussie probable XI
With Ashton Agar out injured, Adam Zampa could be brought back to the starting XI for Australia. Pat Cummins, soon to be rested from upcoming T20Is, could get his break sooner, having already lost the series. Probable XI for Australia- David Warner, Aaron Finch, Steven Smith, Glen Maxwell, Travis Head, Marcus Stoinis, Peter Handscomb, James Faulkner, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Kane Richardson, Zampa.
Pitch conditions
While Chinnaswamy stadium has traditionally favoured batsmen, the pitch has turned a little slower and trickier in recent times. If the weather permits, we could see a run-fest in the 4th ODI.
