Indian opening batsman Rohit Sharma slammed a fine century against Bangladesh in the match number 40 of the ICC World Cup 2019 on Tuesday. Rohit equals Sanga's records
The century against Bangladesh saw Rohit equal former legend Kumar Sangakkara's record of the most centuries in a World Cup edition (4). He also got to five career World Cup tons. He equalled Sanga and Ricky Ponting (5 each) with this tally. Rohit now has five ODI centuries in 2019. That's the most number of ODI tons by a batsman this year.

Rohit became the seventh Indian to score 800-plus runs in World Cup. He overcame former Indian skipper Mohammad Azharuddin (826) and Virender Sehwag (843). Rohit went past the 1,000-run mark in ODIs this year. He became only the third cricketer to slam 1,000-plus runs this year. He now has the most number of sixes among Indian batsmen in ODIs. He surpassed MS Dhoni.
Rohit and Rahul add century-plus stand
Rohit and KL Rahul added a century-plus partnership for the first wicket at Edgbaston on Tuesday against the Tigers. Rohit was dropped on nine by Tamim Iqbal. This was the fourth instance when he was dropped. Rohit has gone on to pile on the runs each time. Rahul also got to a fifty as well. At the moment, India look set to slam 350+.
