Women's singles world number one Iga Swiatek booked a quarter-finals spot in the 2024 edition of the French Open. Swiatek dispatched Anastasia Potapova 6-0, 6-0. The match was over in 40 minutes and as per WTA this was the shortest tour-level match of Swiatek's career. Swiatek won 48 of 58 points to showcase her prowess at Court Philippe-Chatrier on Sunday.

As mentioned, Swiatek played the quickest match of her career. Her three quickest matches have been on clay court. At Roland Garros 2019, she needed 45 minutes to down Simona Halep. In Rome 2021, she needed 46 minutes to beat Karolina Pliskova. Swiatek clocked the quickester completed main draw match at the Roland Garros since this sort of data was available (2015).

As per WTA, Swiatek is now only the third player in the Open era to claim 6-0, 6-0 victories at Roland Garros in consecutive years, after Gabriela Sabatini (1992-93) and Mary Pierce (1993-94). In 2023, Swiatek inflicted the whitewash on Wang Xinyu in the third round. This was also her 26th 6-0 set on clay at the WTA Tour level.

The first set passed in a flash, taking just 19 minutes to get over with a double fault from Potapova to end matters. Swiatek won 24 of 30 points. She went on to hit seven winners and made one unforced error. The second set was in the same vein. Swiatek won 24 of 28 points to dismantle Potapova. It was the pair's maiden meeting.
