Jadeja and Ashwin at the top of ICC Test Rankings
As the new ICC Test Rankings were revealed, India's star spinner Ravindra Jadeja retained his no.1 ranking on the bowling charts. Fellow countryman Ravichandran Ashwin displaced Sri Lanka's Rangana Herath to reclaim the second place. Others among the top 10 ranked Test bowlers include Rangana Herath, James Anderson, Josh Hazlewood, Kagiso Rabada, Dale Steyn, Stuart Broad, Vernon Philander, and Neil Wagner, in that order.
All-Rounder Test Rankings Top 5
The All-Rounder rankings remained almost intact with Shakib Al Hasan perched at the top, followed by Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, and Moeen Ali. Ben Stokes is the new top-5 entrant taking over the spot from Vernon Philander.
Major gains for Shikhar Dhawan while Pujara, Kohli remain static
On the batting charts, Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli maintained their positions among top 5, ranked four and five, respectively. Post his performance against the Lankans at Galle, Shikhar Dhawan saw a major improvement in his Test ranking, moving 21 places to 39th rank. Aussie skipper Steve Smith tops the batting charts, followed by England's Joe Root, and Kiwi captain Kane Williamson.
Other major movements in ranking
Apart from Dhawan, Ben Stokes improved his rankings in a big way by moving up 12 places to become joint-25th on batting charts. England's Jonny Bairstow gained three places to enter the top 10, with him being on 9th rank.
