ICC Test Rankings: Kohli retains top spot, Labuschagne shines
Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli has retained his position at the top of the ICC Test Rankings for Batsmen. Kohli, stays above Steve Smith, who hasn't fired in the last three Test matches. Starc gains nine places to seal career-best fifth spot
In the ICC Test Rankings for Bowlers, Australia's in-form pacer Mitchell Starc sealed a career-best fifth spot and career-best 806 rating points. Starc was brilliant in the recently-concluded Day-Night Test against New Zealand and claimed nine scalps. Pat Cummins retained his top spot (898 rating points). Tim Southee, who also claimed nine wickets, moved into the top 10. Neil Wagner rose to third.
Kohli stays atop, Labuschagne gains big to move fifth
In the ICC Test Rankings for Batsmen, Indian skipper Kohli stayed atop with 928 rating points. Smith, who had the chance to overtake Kohli, failed in the first Test against the Kiwis. He has 911 rating points and is above Kane Williamson (864). The biggest gainer was this year's leading run-scorer, Labuschagne. He has 768 rating points at the moment after slaying New Zealand.
Babar Azam moves into the top 10
Besides Kohli, two more Indian batsmen are in the top 10. Cheteshwar Pujara kept his fourth place intact, whereas, Ajinkya Rahane slipped one place to sixth. Pakistan's Babar Azam, who scored a ton against Sri Lanka in the recently-concluded Test in Rawalpindi, gained three spots and moved to ninth. Ross Taylor moved to 11th after a gritty 80 against Australia.
Starc moves to fifth in the all-rounders list
In the ICC Test Rankings for All-rounders, the top four players kept their positions. Jason Holder leads the show and is followed by the likes of Ravindra Jadeja, Ben Stokes and Vernon Philander. However, Starc moved up to fifth after scoring valuable runs for Australia.
