    What's the story

Australian captain Aaron Finch has clinched the number one spot in the latest ICC T20I batsmen rankings.

Pakistan's Zaman, who scored a brilliant 91 to help his side win the tri-series final, rose to the number two spot.

Further, India's KL Rahul has attained his career-best number three rank. KL Rahul had scored a stunning ton in 1st T20I against England.

    Here's more.

    Meteoric rise

Finch and Zaman are cut above the rest

Aaron Finch scored a total of 306 runs in tri-series, including a record 173-run knock.

His performances helped him gain three spots to become the new number one batsman. Finch has 891 rating points.

Pakistan's star Fakhar Zaman was also impressive as he slammed 278 runs from five innings in the tri-series.

He moved up 44 places to reach number 2 spot.

    Career best

KL Rahul rises to career-high third spot

KL Rahul has been a revelation for India in T20 cricket.

He has been enjoying the form of his life since 2018 IPL.

Against Ireland, he played a brilliant knock, following which he scored a century against England in the first match of the T20I series.

Rahul scored a total of 126 runs in the series which took him to the third spot.

    Taking a backseat

Virat Kohli drops to world number 12

Indian captain Virat Kohli took a backseat in the series against England as he gave up his batting spot to KL Rahul.

As a result, he dropped to the 12th spot while centurion Rohit Sharma moved up to 11th rank.

The biggest gainer was Zimbabwe's Solomon Mire.

He sits on the 25th place, in the latest rankings, after seeing a jump of 202 spots.
