ICC's ODI rankings after Champions Trophy
The ICC ODI rankings came out post the conclusion of 18-day Champions Trophy. With the players of the top eight cricket teams fighting against each other, it was almost certain that there would be some changes in the rankings of the teams and the players. Pakistan up by two places, India down by one
Champions Trophy winners Pakistan went past Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to grab the sixth spot in the team rankings. This has increased their chances of securing a direct spot in the 2019 World Cup. Hosts England and seven other top ranked teams will get a direct entry in the tournament. Post the loss in finals, India moved one spot down to the third rank.
Kohli tops, Shikhar tied on tenth with Rohit Sharma
While Indian skipper Virat Kohli continued to dominate the batting rankings, Champions Trophy's top scorer Shikhar Dhawan is jointly holding the 10th spot with Rohit Sharma. MS Dhoni slipped to the 15th position. Pakistan's Fakhar Zaman entered the top 100 rankings after his performance in the tournament and is placed at 97th position, with Babar Azam reached his career best ranking of five.
Career best ranking for Hasan Ali
After finishing as the 'Player of the Tournament' of Champions Trophy, Pakistan's Hasan Ali was rewarded with his career best seventh ranking in the bowling department. Mohammad Amir reached the 21st rank, while Junaid Ahmed is on 47th. India's Bhuvneshwar Kumar has raised to joint 19th position, while Jaspreet Bumrah has gained 19 places to grab the 24th spot.
Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan remains best all-rounder
With a gritty century against New Zealand, Shakib Al Hasan continues to remain the top all rounder in the ODIs. His fellow countryman and captain Mashrafe Mortaza climbed up three spots up to sit on the 15th position in bowlers' rankings.
