Dravid was a legendary right-handed batsman who played for India for a span of 16 years. He was known for his sound batting technique and also scored around 25,000 runs in international cricket. Owing to his sublime batting, he was also known as India's Mr. Dependable, while he was also called The Wall, for his ability to bat long innings.

He also had a prolific career in the ODIs, scoring 10,889 runs in 344 matches, at an average of 39.16, including 12 centuries. He played his only T20I in August 2011 against England, scoring 31 runs.
