Champions Trophy- India defeat Bangladesh to reach the finals
India defeated Bangladesh by nine wickets to reach the finals of 2017 ICC Champions Trophy to meet arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday. Chasing 265, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma put on a 87 run partnership for the opening wicket. Sharma (123*) then partnered with Virat Kohli (96*) to score 178 runs together and help India win by nine wickets.
India, Bangladesh meet in the second semi-final
Defending champions India take on charged up Bangladesh in the second semi-final of the Champions Trophy. With both the teams coming in to the semis after a solid win in their last group stage match, both are in high spirits and will look to dominate. However, India have a 26-5 lead over Bangladesh in 32 matches they have played against each other.
No changes in the team for India
Indian team remains unchanged and will play the same XI as in the previous game. Squad - Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli (C), Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni (wk), Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Bangladesh put up a target of 265 runs for India
A 123-run partnership between Tamim Iqbal (70) and Mushfiqur Rahim (61) helped Bangladesh put on 264 runs for seven wickets in 50 overs after India decided to bowl first. Bangladesh lost two wickets in first seven overs, before Tamim and Rahim stabilized their innings. In the death overs, skipper Mashrafe Mortaza quick fired 30 runs to help the Tigers go past 250.
Jadhav, Kumar, Bumrah pick up two wickets each
Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave India an early breakthrough as he picked up two wickets in the match. Kedar Jadav sent back both the settled batsmen, with Jasprit Bumrah also picking up a couple of wickets.
