#GamingBytes: All you need to know about the Fortnite balloons
Fortnite maintains its popularity among gamers since the studio, Epic keeps introducing updates to deliver an optimum gameplay experience and new content. Its latest 6.21 update introduced balloons to the Battle Royale, as we had reported. Now the patch notes have detailed how the balloons will work in the game and how it will affect gameplay. Read all about it here.
How will the balloons work?
The balloons would let gamers float above their competition, giving them an aerial advantage. However, the balloons can only last at the maximum height for a limited amount of time. This Epic Rarity item will come in sets of 20. Players can deploy 6 balloons at a time. They can be released mid-air to regulate the height at which players want to float.
How will the balloons affect gameplay?
As the trailer shows, the balloons can be shot down, so despite aerial advantage, players run a significant risk of being shot down and killed, since spotting a floating player is easier. However, the ability to attach balloons to shopping trolleys, transforming them to gliders could be useful in some makeshift aerial combat, since players cannot use guns while holding on to the balloons.
Our advice to gamers on balloons
Since the balloons are of epic rarity they won't pop up much in the game anyway. However, if it is a choice between balloons and gliders, choose the latter. The gliders can be redeployed in-game now, allowing players some aerial movement and quick spotting options. Moreover, the glider is much faster and maneuverable than balloons, giving players a distinct advantage in dodging bullets.
