Rasmus Hojlund, Mason Mount are back in Manchester United training
Manchester United have welcomed back Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount to their training sessions. Both players have been sidelined due to hamstring injuries but are now making significant progress in their recovery. This development comes as the team prepares for their upcoming Premier League match against Crystal Palace on Saturday. Notably, Hojlund is yet to feature this season for the club across six matches in all competitions. Mount has had three appearances under his belt.
Hojlund's injury and recovery
Hojlund has sustained an injury during the club's pre-season game against Arsenal in the USA. On the other hand, Mount had already participated in Man United's FA Community Shield tie before appearing in the club's first two games of the Premier League season. He was substituted at half-time during a loss to Brighton in matchweek 2. Both players would be hoping to make a swift return to the scheme of things under Erik ten Hag.
Hojlund scored 16 goals last season; Mount's injury issues continue
Both players had joined Man United in the summer of 2023. Hojlund scored 16 goals and made 2 assists in all competitions for the club last season from 43 appearances. On the other hand, Mount, who joined from Chelsea, featured in just 20 matches. He had an injury-prone debut season. Notably, Mount is yet to find his form he once had at Chelsea. He has suffered injury blows for the 3rd season running.
Man United's performance and league standing this season
Despite the absence of Hojlund and Mount, Manchester United has demonstrated strong scoring capabilities. The team bounced back from a disappointing league defeat to Liverpool by securing a 3-0 victory over Southampton on Saturday afternoon, and a resounding 7-0 win against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup third round. Currently, after four games into the season, United hold the 10th position in the league table with two losses and two wins (6 points).
