Schedule announced for 2018 Hockey World Cup
The FIH announced the schedule for the Hockey Men's World Cup 2018 on Wednesday. 16 teams are set to battle it out for the prestigious trophy to be held at the Kalinga stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The tournament is scheduled to be played from November 28 to December 16. India are slated to face Belgium, Canada and South Africa in Pool C.
A look at India's pool
India face a tricky test when they take on Canada, Belgium and South Africa. Belgium pose the biggest threat to India being the 3rd ranked side in the world. India got direct entry as hosts with other teams qualifying through HWL semi-finals and continental tourneys. A first place in the pool, will ensure India direct place in the quarters.

Pool A: Argentina, Spain, France, New Zealand. Pool B: Australia, England, Ireland, China. Pool C: India, Canada, Belgium, South Africa. Pool D: Netherlands, Germany, Pakistan, Malaysia. Important dates: Semi-finals- December 15, Final- December 16. Key clash- India vs Belgium, December 2.
