#GamingBytes: Hitman 2 tricks to become a master assassin
'Hitman 2' is the latest addition to the popular assassination franchise by IO Interactive. The game prioritizes stealth to the degree that being detected attracts extremely heavy gunfire and usually results in instantaneous death. However, being the perfect silent assassin is tough work and might require some training and guidance. Therefore, we bring you five gameplay tips to become a master assassin.
Understanding the target patterns
At the start of missions, newcomers tend to directly head to kill the target and get detected by guards in the process. In Hitman 2, as in real life, guards follow certain patterns while patrolling. Observing said patterns will help you realize when guards are isolated to be taken out stealthily, or if there are blind spots in the patrolling pattern you can exploit.
Become the faceless assassin
Once you study patrol patterns and take out guards quietly, it is best to wear their outfits. Though missions can be played in the signature Hitman suit, it is extremely difficult. Disguising yourself gives you greater stealth. Opt for outfits giving you greater access to areas, like guard outfits. However, be careful to avoid NPCs like fellow guards who might see through your disguise.
The man of the crowd
In case your disguise is blown and an NPC detects you, Hitman 2 allows you to use the crowd to your advantage. Blend into large groups of people to conceal yourself and the NPC will normally not follow you, thus helping you to escape detection. However, if you have already triggered any alarm and NPCs are actively looking for you, this technique becomes futile.
Flip the finger to big brother
Hitman 2 has introduced CCTV cameras into the game. Usually being recorded on camera does not affect gameplay except for lowered scores at the end of a mission. However, if the camera catches you doing something illegal, an alarm will be raised. Your best bet is to take out cameras using a silenced handgun. Alternately, locate the central security room and delete evidence.
The tools that get the job done
Hitman 2 is a game of brains and how you use equipment at hand determines how good an assassin you are. For example, a screwdriver could be used for a stealth kill or to tinker with power-boxes to cause distractions. Further, carry poison for great stealthy assassinations. Thankfully briefcases have returned to the game allowing Hitman to carry the trustworthy sniper without raising suspicion.
