West Indian batter Andre Russell smashed the bowlers left, right, and center in 2019. His blazing cameos acorss T20 leagues continued to shine forth. Russell hammered 1,080 runs from 46 T20s at a staggering strike-rate of 182.12, the highest for a batter with a minimum of 1,000 runs in a calendar year. The Caribbean dasher smashed four half-centuries that year.
Travis Head: 182.07 in 2024
Head is just behind Russell with a strike-rate of 182.07 in 2024 (T20 cricket). He starred for Australia in the T20 World Cup, Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, and Washington Freedom in Major League Cricket (MLC). Head slammed 567 runs at a strike-rate of 191.55 in IPL 2024. Overall, he has smacked 1,442 runs in the shortest format this year.
Luke Ronchi: 177.09 in 2017
New Zealand's Luke Ronchi recorded a strike-rate of 177.09 in T20 cricket in 2017. His blistering knocks came for Chittagong Vikings, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Leicestershire, New Zealand, and Wellington. In 36 T20s, the Kiwi batter racked up 1,098 runs at an average of 34.31. His tally included a ton and seven half-centuries.
Suryakumar Yadav: 175.99
In 2022, Suryakumar Yadav became only the second Indian batter to score over 1,500 T20 runs in a calendar year. SKY amassed 1,503 runs from 41 T20s at an incredible strike-rate of 175.99. The 360-degreee player hammered many as 1,164 runs playing for India. He remains the only Indian to have slammed over 1,000 T20I runs in a calendar year.
