    Decoding the highest partnerships for India against Bangladesh in Tests

    What's the story

    Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin stabilized India's first innings with a 199-run stand for the seventh wicket in the 2024 Test series (1st Test).

    Both players came to bat on Day 1 when India were struggling at 144/6. However, the duo managed to help India recover and add a mammoth partnership.

    Here we decode the highest partnerships for India against Bangladesh in Tests.

    Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay, Fatullah, 2015 (283 runs)

    Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay stitched a 238-run partnership for the first wicket in the first innings of the only Test at Fatullah in 2015.

    Dhawan managed 173 off 195 striking at 88.71. Vijay scored 150 off 272 striking at 55.14, propelling India's total to 462/6d.

    The match was drawn after the hosts were given a follow-on after being folded for 256 (first innings).

    Gautam Gambhir and Rahul Dravid, Chattogram, 2004 (259 runs)

    Gautam Gambhir and Rahul Dravid managed a 259-run partnership for the second wicket during the first innings of the second Test at Chattogram (2004).

    Dravid managed 160 off 304 balls while Gambhir scored 139 off 196 deliveries. India were folded for 540.

    India won by an innings and 83 runs after Bangladesh were folded for 124 in the second innings after following on.

    Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar, Mirpur, 2010 (222* runs)

    Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar scored a 222*-run partnership for the third wicket during India's first innings of the second Test in Dhaka in 2010.

    Sachin managed 143 off 182, while Dravid scored 111 off 188 until he retired hurt at 368/2. India managed 544/8.

    India won the match by 10 wickets chasing a target of two runs, (BAN second innings: 312/10).

    Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane, Hyderabad, 2017 (222 runs)

    Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane added 222 runs for the fourth wicket during India's first innings of the only Test at Hyderabad in 2017.

    Kohli smashed a brilliant 204 off 246, while on the other hand, Rahane scored 82 off 133, taking the total to 687/6d.

    India won by 208 runs after Bangladesh were folded for 250 (second innings) chasing a target of 459.

    Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin, Chennai, 2024 (199 runs)

    Jadeja and Ashwin managed 199 runs for the seventh wicket partnership during the first innings of the first Test at Chepauk.

    Ashwin managed 113 off 133 (his sixth ton in Tests) while Jadeja was picked up by Taskin Ahmed after scoring 86 off 124.

    India were folded for 376 on Day two. Bangladesh trail by 264 runs at tea as the scoreboard reads 112/8.
